It all started… in 2005, after a career in the elementary classroom, when co-founder Meg Roberts decided to redirect her love of teaching to her passion for sewing and opened her home studio to teach sewing to kids and adults of all ages. Word quickly spread, and after a few years working out of the original Studio Stitch, Meg expanded her sewing school to a beautiful space in downtown Atascadero. Since its inception, Meg has taught hundreds of children, teens and adults the art and skill of sewing.
Over the years, Meg and her daughter in law- Danielle, began dreaming up ideas about how to provide more creative opportunities to kids and adults across SLO county. After many lunch dates, and late nights planning and imagining, Meg and Danielle decided that it would be the best idea EVER to partner up, and bring their love of sewing, crafting, and parties to San Luis Obispo. Fast forward to 2019, where Meg & Danielle have the amazing opportunity to open up their lovely and inviting studio for children and adult sewing + crafting classes, birthday parties, workshops, social events, and beyond. We are delighted to welcome you to your sewing + crafting home away from home!
Meg has been sewing from the age of 5 when her grandmother gave her a small Singer hand crank sewing machine. Her entire life since that time has been spent sewing, crafting and hosting parties for friends and family in her free time. Her degree is in Early Childhood Development and she has been teaching children for well over 45 years. She loves sewing, camping, traveling with her husband and hanging out in their garden where she enjoys hosting family get togethers with her 3 grown sons, her daughter-in-loves and her 7 beautiful grandchildren.
Since Danielle was a young girl, her parents encouraged her creativity by buying her craft kits and allowing her to pour confetti and glitter all over their living room floor every Saturday morning (sorry mom and dad… but also THANK YOU!). As she grew up, her love of crafting, creating, imagining, and decorating for parties never ceased. Now that she’s a grown adult and mom to two daughters, she has gained plenty of experience in the art of crafting, organizing, throwing imaginative parties, and running a business. She is a SLO resident and when she’s not working, she loves to spend time with her husband, watch movies with her daughters, cuddle with her animals, meditate, read, enjoy her community, travel, and she REALLY loves to get crafty!
